Ruth Herron devotes her time to the wellbeing, and welfare of countless children. She and her husband of over 25 years are parents to six children who joined the family through either natural birth or special needs adoption. They have sheltered countless foster children over the past 20 years. Presently, Ruth works in the public schools aiding a handicap child. She believes Jesus' words in Luke 18:16 (NIV),”... "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these." A native of Kentucky, Ruth currently lives near the Appalachian Trail in SW Virginia enjoying the beautiful mountains as she writes on her long front porch.

Joanie Scott-Smelser has been a Christian for 47 years. She and her husband of 34 years have two adult daughters and two grandchildren, whom she adores. Joanie loves to write and for inspiration she draws on her surroundings, living close to both the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains and the majestic Appalachians; and her personal history as a native Virginian, remembering the past as she lives in the present. She believes the truth of Jeremiah 29:11 and trusts God has plans for all of us.

Ruth and Joanie love to write together, believing two heads are better than one. They agree with the writer of Ecclesiastes who observed, “Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work: If one falls down, his friend can help him up. But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up!”
(Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 NIV)
